As many of you will know Brian has been in the forefront of enthusiastically introducing the Opera Circle to the world of Baroque opera with some wonderful music and singers, most of us had never ever heard of!

Only last month together with the HGO artistic team he was profiling Handel’s Agrippina.  In March he introduced us to Naples in the Baroque where there were over 300 composers. Last year we had Baroque gems, while in 2021 we were introduced to the life of Vivaldi and his operas, demonstrating he wrote more than just The Four Seasons!

From hardly being able to use PowerPoint some 3 years ago, he subsequently bought video copying and editing software and produced some top-quality presentations with wonderful pictures and video clips, even inserting English text where necessary. He really enjoyed preparing these evenings and sharing his passion for Baroque opera, which we will now all miss greatly.

Brian's enthusiasm and knowledge of Baroque opera will be a lasting memory for all of us - for which we will be for ever grateful!
