Brian and I served together for many years as committee members on the Fordington Road Residents Association, where he was very active in our campaigns pressing for improvements in the road's environment. His particular interest was trees, and he often took on the task of persuading Haringey Council to replace old or add new trees in the road, deploying a combination of charm and persistence to overcome the inevitable bureaucratic obstacles. He was a model committee colleague - always agreeable, incisive, grounded in common sense and with an excellent sense of humour. We will miss you, Brian!
